We Run For Aphasia Donate Myself and my friend Simon have decided to run the Brighton Half Marathon for Say Aphasia in February 2023.In 2020, my partner at the time unfortunately suffered from a stroke just before lockdown. At such a young age, this had a huge impact on her mental health as she was affected by Aphasia. The charity helped her in terms of having someone to talk and relate to, especially when the whole country was in lockdown. Aphasia is a disorder that affects how you communicate. It can impact your speech, as well as the way you write and understand both spoken and written language. It is usually caused by a stroke, brain haemorrhage, head injury or a brain tumour.Aphasia affects around 350,000 people in the UK, yet not many people have heard of it. We want to raise awareness of this life changing disorder. The charity and those affected by Aphasia would benefit so much from any donations you can give, so please donate what you can!
