Say Aphasia is a wonderful charity which provides invaluable support for people living with aphasia. Aphasia is a language disorder resulting from damage to the brain which can lead to difficulties with understanding and/or expressing language. This can have an immense impact on daily life, affecting everything from family relationships to education and employment.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, one of my roles is to support people with aphasia to achieve meaningful goals in relation to their communication and well-being. I am also the Say Aphasia "link person" for the Brighton and Hove Community Speech and Language Therapy team. This means I help to raise awareness of Say Aphasia across the trust and support people with aphasia to access what the charity has to offer, including drop-in groups, online groups, and 1:1 befriending services.

I sincerely believe that Say Aphasia is a charity worthy of your donations. I hope my fundraising efforts are successful in spreading awareness about the presence and impact of aphasia. Please visit the website to learn more about the great work Colin and the rest of the team do for the aphasia community.

I welcome you to join me on this couch to 21k journey! Nadia Tetrault
