Pegasus Scheme - changing the way we talk to the police

One of our group members told us out about a new police initiative in Brighton. It is known as The Pegasus Scheme. It is for people who have speech or communication difficulties which might make it difficult for them to give their details in an emergency. You can register your details with Pegasus and get a card with a PIN number.

Pegasus is not just about contacting the police by phone, you can also show your card to a police officer, member of police staff or other emergency services staff should you require assistance in person. When you show the card to someone, this will let the officer or emergency services worker know that you may require additional help and support.

More information can be found at:

We are hoping that Sussex Police will come along to our group soon and explain more.
