You might know about Aphasia because of Bruce Willis and his recent decline in health. Aphasia is a language disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate due to brain damage. It can impact speech, writing, and the ability to understand written and spoken language. Aphasia usually occurs suddenly after a stroke or head injury, but can also develop slowly from a brain tumour or progressive neurological disease. The affected areas of the brain determine the level of impairment in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding others.
