I joined a Say Aphasia group a few months after the stroke I had 6 years ago. The group was suggested to me by my speech therapist as she thought it would be helpful for me to meet other people with Aphasia. I found the thought of going to a group rather daunting but I need not have worried as I was welcomed as one of their own.

Now, 6 years on, I'm a Peer Leader and run the Woodingdean Say Aphasia group.

As June is Aphasia Awareness month all of our members are trying to set their own challenges to help raise money towards keeping our group going.

Any pennies you can spare will be gratefully received - thank you!
