I had a stroke in 2013, as a consequence of the stroke I additionally have aphasia.
Say Aphasia is a charity that supports people with aphasia and their families and carers. Say Aphasia improves the welfare of people affected.I have had to learn to speak again, this is ongoing. My vocabulary continues to improve over the years. Aphasia has not affected my ability to understand my ability to read. I am able to hold a conversation however these can take longer for people affected by aphasia. I know the word I want to say, but I cannot say them, which is very frustrating! I will run Brighton Half Marathon in February 2024 for Say Aphasia. This is a fantastic opportunity to help raise money and awareness for Say Aphasia. Please donate to our fantastic group, donations big or small are very welcome and hugely appreciated. Jill Wakeman
