Martin's BHM 2026 Donate Aphasia is a communication disability, which usually occurs following a stroke or head injury, Each person with aphasia experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all. Some people have just a few words. Others may have difficulty reading, writing or using numbers. When I first had the stroke it was 12 years ago. I was based in London. I didn't have aphasia group and spent most of my time alone in the flat. Now, I have moved to Saltdean just 2 years ago and have joined both the Hove & Woodingdean Aphasia Groups. It gives me a change to to with other people with speech problems.
